About the Alliance Ant Project
The Alliance Project was funded by a grant from the California Department of Pesticide Regulation. The primary goal of this alliance project is implementing and promoting low-impact IPM strategies to effectively manage pest ants in urban environments. Specifically, the low-impact IPM approach will promote the adoption of biorational pest control approaches (e.g., pheromone adjuvant for initial sprays and baiting for maintenance visits), while reducing the over-reliance on repeated use of insecticide sprays. This approach will help us minimize the risk of environmental contamination caused by drift and off-site movement of the insecticides.
