Alliance Ant Project Objectives

  1. Formation of an alliance team with participating pest management professional (PMP) companies and university researchers
  2. Development of effective low-impact pest management strategies that reduce the amount of synthetic insecticide sprays applied around residential structures to control pest ants (low-impact ant integrated pest management (IPM))
  3. Implementation of the low-impact ant IPM by the participating pest management companies and demonstration of the effectiveness and economic benefit for these low-impact IPM strategies
  4. Promotion of  these low-impact ant IPM strategies by conducting workshops and seminars to increase awareness among PMPs and the general public (ie. master gardeners).
